ý   On 1.1.1968 CSSO started its activity within Alexandria customs area.

ý   A decision of the Ministry of Assurance was issued under No. 47/1973 to establish cargo supervision & surveying office at Alexandria port and to be the main office.

ý   The main office is divided into two areas, Alexandria and Mahmoudya area.

ý   Our surveyors are available at the office sites which are spread at the port area.

ý   As soon as Abuqir port was started to receive cargoes, our surveyor attended there to achieve both of surveys and measuring ship’s drafts for dry bulk cargoes.

ý  CSSO has a Technical Department which prepared technical studies and statistics. It also follows up the marine accidents which happened at the Egyptian ports and issue circular reports sent to all the Egyptian Insurance Companies.

ý   Our surveyors achieve the following:

      Surveying all kinds of general cargoes.

      Surveying cargoes received into containers.

      Surveying inland accidents.

      Surveying consignments at consignee's warehouses, customs annex and free zones.

      Attending Unloading operation from the containers.

      Surveying and measuring drafts of vessels for liquid and dry bulk cargoes.
